Ruger LCP (Light Compact Pistol)
The must have accessory for conceal carriers is the Pocket pistol. One of my personal favorites in the pocket pistol category is the Ruger LCP. I know that many complain about the limits in regards to the 380 caliber however a 380 in the hand beats a 45 in the safe.

I like the LCP because the size (see below), reliability and basic look allows for easy carry particularly in the summer months when lighter clothing is worn. The beauty of the LCP is a reliable pocket pistol that is always there, the quick run to the store or the day out with light gear.
Ruger LCP (Light Compact Pistol)
- Caliber: 380
- Capacity: 6+1
- Barrel Length: 2.75"
- Overall Length: 5.16"
- Width: 0.82"
- Slide/Barrel Material: Alloy Steel
- Estimated Price: $299 to $360
Positives: Reliable, Concealable, Affordable
Negatives: Sights, Small grips
Please be fair warned that the Ruger LCP is small and therefore not the easiest gun to shoot. If you have extremely large hands the LCP could be difficult to shoot, difficult but not impossible. I recommend that you get the LCP to the range and get familiar with it, like you would do any other firearm. I took my LCP to the range, shooting Remington white and green box 380, 95 grain at 10 yards, see the results. While I could always practice more, I am comfortable carrying my LCP.
- While Voices of Defense does not endorse one particular firearm over another, the Ruger LCP is a fine pocket pistol for those of us that are into the Compact Life.
