God Given Rights!
A friend and I was having a friendly conversation on the role of firearms in the Christian community. Let me first say that I am indeed a Christain and fully support our rights to bear arms. Most people of faith don't agree too much with firearms and their use for defense... I on the other hand think that there are many things to think about.
I was searching the web on came across this cool video that puts things into a clearer perspective, Natural Law. I'd like to ask my readers for their opinions on this one, can firearm defense be backed up biblically? I think so!

It can't rain all the time...
Rainy days,
It's been raining all day, most people complain about it. I must admit... I really enjoy rainy days, it gives me time to contemplate. To some it's muggy, cloudy, and messy, but it's actually the only times I can think the most clear. To me, the slow calming of pace makes things a bit more tolerable.

George Saunders... The whole story!
Hey all!
So for my first journal entry I figured I'd let you in on my life... The whole story!
My childhood was never perfect. I had a drug addicted father who didn't care for his own family and abuse my sister and I any chance he could get. Once my mother figured this out she decided to divorce him. He begged and pleaded, but she wasn't hearing any of it till one day he decided to take the cowards way out by commiting suicide. He Overdosed on drugs and died in front of my sister and I. I was around 6 years old and my sister was approximately 11 years old. It's a strange thing because I can still remember playing with his cold, lifeless body as I didn't know what death was at the time... I was a bright kid and eventually caught on when I didn't hear a reply from him when I spoke.
Growing up in the worst part of the Bronx I had to constantly defend myself against many kids who liked to start trouble. Most of my childhood was just me learning how to defend myself the best that I can and just simply surviving. Once I was confident enough with my own safety, I started defending kids who couldn't or who were too afraid to defend themselves. It probably wasn't the best idea for me academically, being that I got kicked out of a few schools, but I felt that defending those kids was something I had to do since no one else did anything about it. I never liked seeing the innocent suffer because someone decides to go on a ego trip... The "sheepdog" in me came out.

Introduction to George's journal
Introduction to George's Journal
Hey viewers,
I just wanted to make a quick introduction to fill you in on this section of Voices of Defense. To keep things organized on this website/ blog I've added my own section in which I can just talk about what's on my mind. Whether it'd be ranting, ideas, questions, or if I'm just bored and feel like writing... It'll all be here.
I really want to express and emphasize how personal owning a firearm is and how important educating yourself is. So if you're into walking in someone elses shoes for a few minutes then this is the section for you. I will be posting my gun permit process here with full details on the duration of it all.
